Hot Water Safety Advice

Hot water can cause burns and even death.  It is important that you know how to tell if you have a hot water problem, and how to get help.

There are a number of steps that can be taken to reduce the risk in a supported living home. Please telephone your landlord immediately if you find:

  • Your hot water is hotter than usual
  • Hot water is coming out of the cold water tap
  • A loud 'bubbling' sound coming out of the hot water cyclinder
  • Water (steam, droplets, condensation, puddles) in the roof space, loft area or in the cylinder cupboard
  • Warm or hot water coming out of your overflow pipe.  This is a pipe coming out of one of outside walls of your home. Usually it is near the roof or at a high level.

Remember, your landlord should be the first person to get help from.  But if you are struggling please telephone us on 01254 385845.  We will do our best to help you.
